Fine Art Print FAQs
Created 2014 Washington's Children explores broad themes concerning African Americans and their enduring role in American history. Like many men of his era, George Washington was a plantation owner ( Mount Vernon) and owned slaves. The story of America is rarely told from the viewpoint of those whose forced labor created the economic conditions and prosperity that allowed the United States break free from England. Many plantation owners had sons and daughters with slaves, thus the title of this thought provoking work. Private Collection
