Fine Art Print FAQs
Created in 2023. Thailand. Loy Krathong is a Thai festival celebrated annually throughout Thailand and in nearby countries. The name could be translated as "to float ritual vessel or lamp," and comes from the tradition of making krathong or buoyant, decorated baskets, which are then floated on a river. Many Thais use the krathong to thank the Goddess of Water and River. Loy Krathong takes place on the night of the full moon of the 12th month of the Thai lunar calendar and typically falls in November according to the Gregorian calendar. In 2023, Loy Krathong Festival will be celebrated on the night of Tuesday, November 28th. As a youngster while in Thailand, Bobby participated in the festival. This artwork is meant to honour the event by reflecting the beauty of krathongs by the river and floating lamps in the sky, all with the backdrop of Thai Buddhist temple.
