Myk Eff

Myk Eff is a multidisciplinary artist whose digital, audiovisual, and interactive works treat the computer as a meta-medium, dissolving boundaries between sound, text, and image.

Working across digital 2D art, film, music, creative writing, and public art, Eff uses computation to bring distinct forms together. His practice explores how technology reshapes perception, transforming the computer into an active environment where image, sound, language, and interaction converge.

Based in Vancouver, Dr. Michael Filimowicz—known as Myk Eff—works as an AI artist, filmmaker, musician, and lecturer at Simon Fraser University. His background spans computer-mediated communication, audiovisual production, new media art, and creative writing. His work has appeared at SIGGRAPH Art Gallery, Re-New, ARTECH, and IDEAS; in Leonardo; and on Loupe Art. He has directed more than 17 festival-screened films and music videos and founded Myk Eff Records.
