Fine Art Print FAQs
Created in 2010. . Jewelled Journey (blue to purple) is a collage made up of drawings of circular patterns I created while studying items such as stones, pebbles, corn, and round-shaped jewellery. Coloured card, acrylic paints and black ink were used to create the drawn patterns. There are also some images of gem stones and crystals cut out from a jewellery magazine and pasted between the drawings on the board. There is an abundance of circles making up this repeat pattern, resembling an endless cobblestone path. This artwork is the second of a triptych. It can sit in the middle of the other two works from this collection. The repeat pattern continues onto the next artwork. As circles symbolise infinity, I created this pattern to appear to be never-ending. The colours used are influenced by the colour wheel. This means that, as well as the shapes and patterns continuing on to the next artwork, the colours also flow into the next artwork, mirroring the colour wheel. The journey is not linear: it is circular and endless. The title of the work encourages inspiration in the audience, and to enjoy the journey rather than being set on a final destination.
