Kevin Trinh
Kevin Trinh's work is a powerful exploration of existence in a chaotic world. His artistic practice is a "liberating investigation," using fire, destruction, and reflection as metaphors for an existential quest for meaning and dialogue.
Trinh's process is a visceral dialogue with his materials. He employs gold leaf, acrylic, and oil, but also physically fractures and burns the canvas, creating voids that speak to the destruction of the self. The reflective gold surfaces capture phantom images, inviting viewers to glimpse the "ashes of the elusive self." This approach explores the complex boundaries between the body and the exterior world. Having exhibited at prominent venues including the Westfield World Trade Center, Phillips, and Sotheby’s in New York, Trinh is a significant voice in contemporary art, using destruction as a powerful means of creation.
