Born in Yambol, Bulgaria, Vasil Vasilev (Vaso) is a formally trained painter with a Master's degree in fine art. His work, which has evolved from classical craft to a vehicle for philosophical thought, has been featured in numerous exhibitions since 1996.

His stylistic approach is deeply personal, guided by the work's meaning and his own emotional state during creation. He describes his process as sometimes beginning with a sudden vision, while at other times it is a slow, layered reveal. Working in mixed media with acrylic, oil, chalk, and pigments, he aims for his multi-layered paintings to have a sense of freedom and to grab the viewer at first sight.
