Sarah Arsenault is a British Canadian painter whose imagined surrealist landscapes — teeming with biomorphic and anthropomorphic forms — examine humanity's fraught relationship with the world it inhabits.

Arsenault builds each canvas through a layered process, beginning with a spontaneous wash of acrylic and ink that anchors the composition. From there, successive layers of paint, texture, and collage are added and selectively removed, allowing form and depth to emerge organically. The resulting surrealist environments are at once narrative and open-ended — biographical in impulse, yet deliberately left for the viewer to interpret.

Her work is held in the UAL Art Collection and the Berlin-based Climate Art Collection, with additional pieces in private collections across Europe and North America. She has been recognized through the RA Summer Exhibition (2022), the Beyond Future Art Prize, and a longlist placement for the Ruth Borchard Self-Portrait Prize. Arsenault holds a BFA with distinction from OCAD University and an MA in Painting with distinction from Camberwell College of Arts.
