Pinkyhoot

Pinkyhoot (Lisi Wang) is a Chinese American visual artist based in Salt Lake City. She creates contemporary surreal paintings in watercolor and gouache—intimate, luminous works that build a whimsical world where the everyday woman is the hero.

Her art explores identity, mental health, and the quiet courage it takes to live with intention. Central to her visual language are the Orbettes: small, eye-shaped creatures that give form to inner thoughts and emotions, making the invisible feel tender and seen. Each piece begins with pencil sketches, followed by layers of watercolor washes and gouache details.

Before becoming a full-time artist, Lisi spent over a decade as a footwear designer for global brands. She returned to art during the pandemic, finding her calling in creating work that invites reflection and reminds women that their inner life is worth paying attention to.
