Marlene Lowden is a Canadian artist who creates large, expressive oil paintings. Drawing from her past in television broadcasting, she applies principles of composition and storytelling to her canvas, creating a unique narrative quality in her work.

A proud alumni of Thrive Art Studios, Lowden's homage series to Canadian female artists, “Blind Contour Homage,” toured seven public galleries in British Columbia. Her notable achievements include being named one of “28 contemporary Canadian artists to know” by Create! Magazine in 2021 and selected as one of 24 artists to collect in 2024 by Saatchi Art. She is also featured in the All She Makes directory and Art Seen Magazine. Lowden lives and works in her hometown of Gibsons, BC.
