Lawrence Lee is a Southwestern artist based in Tucson, AZ. Lee, an adventurer who has traveled the world and lived in places as diverse as a Caribbean island and in the highlands of Guatemala. He has been showing his work in fine galleries since 1972. Noted for his magical and dreamlike paintings of shamans and quasi-shamanistic figures, he has recently refocused his artistic vision onto uniquely vibrant, imaginary landscapes. Lee's work lives in the permanent collections of many noted museums, corporations, and thousands of private collections worldwide. In 2023, Lee accepted a coveted invitation to show at the Florence Biennale in Florence, Italy.
