Lauren Karp is a Nashville-based photographer and visual artist. She is the creator of Imaginature™, a signature artistic process that transforms familiar locations into layered abstractions that evoke a renewed sense of place.

Drawing inspiration from textures in nature and the geometry of architecture, her images invite viewers to see beauty in unexpected ways. Through intentional camera movement and digital manipulation, she deconstructs and reconstructs her photographs, blurring the line between reality and fantasy. Her heightened visual awareness, shaped by hearing loss, allows her to notice subtle variations in light and hue that define her work.

Karp’s installations are part of public and private collections worldwide, with permanent pieces at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Her practice has evolved to include Imaginature In Motion™, a series of digital works where image and sound merge to create a meditative experience of the living landscape.
