Kathleen Frank
Kathleen Frank, born and raised in Northern California, is a painter awash in color and searching for pattern. After years as an art teacher, woodcarver, and printmaker, she now paints the landscapes of her three homes: CA, NM, and PA.
Her formative years in other mediums inform her painting, where she seeks a glimmer of logic in a complex, tumbled landscape. For her, finding pattern in nature is primal. While seeking brilliance in color is a worthy goal, the quest for pattern, conducted with paint and brush, is a joyously daunting adventure.
She looks for the brilliance and gaiety of life, trying to catch the light and design in all its strangeness and beauty. Frank believes there is so much joy and adventure to paint in one lifetime. Her work can be seen in galleries across the United States, from Santa Fe to San Francisco.
