Frankie Duru
Frankie Duru is a U.S.-based impressionist painter working primarily in acrylics. Rooted in a fine arts background and a deep connection to La Quinta, California, his work captures the energy of light, landscape, and life.
Drawing inspiration from the Impressionist tradition — particularly the techniques of Monet — Duru employs bold brushstrokes and vivid color to render the fleeting qualities of desert light and texture. His canvases radiate movement and vitality, spanning subjects that range from sun-drenched desert landscapes and palm-lined streets to figures in motion and intimate still lifes. Whether depicting the warm glow of a Palm Springs sunset or the kinetic energy of players on a pickleball court, Duru's work consistently seeks to evoke joy, wonder, and an appreciation for the beauty found in everyday moments.
Born in 1984, Duru has built an active exhibition record, including a 2026 solo exhibition in La Quinta and participation in the DPAA Desert Landscape/Cityscape Exhibition in Palm Desert. His work has been featured in multiple Singulart curator selections and he accepts commissions. Duru's paintings are held in private collections and continue to gain recognition within the California desert arts community.
