Derek Olinger is an American Visual Artist from California. He has been a student of top internationally recognized painters and has been honored with awards. In his large format oil paintings, Olinger explores Myth through literature, pop-culture, and film. His work is a graphic, visual, and sublime experience, best described as Magic Realism.

From the Artist... In my work I use story telling of events both real and imagined from dreams and revelations. I find inspiration in exploring Myth found in film, literature, and pop-culture. My goal is to create an image that impresses upon and interacts with the viewer creating a feeling of the sublime.
