Aurelia Karina
Karina's art invites viewers to explore the hidden aspects of her personality and offers a unique perspective on the human experience.
Karina's creative journey has been one of continuous discovery and growth. Beginning in college and extending through her professional career, she has accumulated knowledge and experience through work, learning, community engagement, and participation in various local and international competitions and exhibitions. Some of her notable participations include Unknown Asia, Authenticity ID, Bharatika Creative Design Fest, Sinestesia 6 International Exhibition, Weecanfest, and HUG.
In January 2024, Karina was honored as a HUG Visionary and was featured in the HUG 100 Artists to Watch publication. Additionally, she collaborated with Loupe Inc. to have her artwork showcased on TV during the AAPI Heritage Month celebration.
Karina's early artistic endeavors focused on traditional tools such as drawing pens and markers. The acquisition of her first iPad allowed her to expand into digital illustration. Inspired by plus-size yogi videos she discovered in 2019, her art is characterized by bold use of vibrant hues and grain textures, unconventional body proportions, and introspective themes. This distinct style reflects her self-expression and exploration of human emotions. Her work is also heavily influenced by pop culture, pop art, anime, and modern Japanese illustration, creating a unique blend of imagination and artistic vision.
