Created in 2022. Spring Tide is the first work in the Sea of Dreams series. It has been featured in several group shows and won an Honorable Mention, including the Harvard University museums Instagram page, which features notable and unique Digital Art.
Most of my work evolves from an insatiable appetite to challenge myself to create something and try something different. I'm ruled and driven by instinct, which pushes me to experiment.
Many years ago, I only painted, but in 2001 I started working in Photography, incorporating my Photography into my collage work. In January 2022, I began painting with a digital paintbrush and an online program.
The impetus to create came from listening to a recording of DeBuseys La Mar and my fantasizing about Spring on a typical grey Northeast day in February 2022.
I had become increasingly sick of winter and still getting used to painting with a digital paintbrush in Procreate. Procreate, an online program, allows one to paint in any medium or style and to create any color. It took a little while to get used to using an iPencil, and after many failed attempts, Spring Tide emerged. I often paint with Music in the background; Music is a second passion of mine. The day the idea occurred for a fantasy series with Spring as its theme Debussy's "La Mar, " played in the background. Music gives visual art an entirely new dimension.
